You're a busy person, and taking time out to shop in a brick and mortar store for clothes is a hassle. Why bother when you can buy great-looking clothes online, custom tailored to your exact measurements, at prices better than you'll find off the rack? Last week we asked you which online clothing shops you trusted for quality clothing, great prices, and a perfect fit. We rounded up your nominations and then took a look at the top five online custom clothing stores and put them to a vote. Now we're back to highlight the winner and how the contest played out. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention the efforts that some of the contenders this week went to in order to secure victory. Many mentioned the poll in their social media channels, and encouraged their customers, friends, even their employees to vote. When it came down to the wire, the contest was between two great retailers: Black Lapel and Indochino. Indochino secured the victory, but that victory was at least in part due to their offer to give away a free custom suit to anyone who voted and then shared their post. We're not saying that should change anything, but it should be noted. As for the standings, voting was tight between Indochino and Black Lapel all weekend. Black Lapel held an early lead, and on Monday the two were virtually tied for the top spot. Then late in the day, Indochino pulled ahead and took the prize with 59% of the votes cast, with Black Lapel taking second place with 29%. Way back in third place, Blank Label reeled in over 5% of the votes cast, and right behind it in fourth was Modern Tailor with 3.5% of the overall vote. Sliding into fifth place by only 2 votes was women's custom clothier eShakti, which reeled in 3.46% of the vote. "To be honest, I chose them because of their larger scale (volume), their expertise in what they do and the meticulous way they run their factory. That's important to know," he said. "Some people might think that blind workers wouldn't produce the quality you want. They're experts in what they do."The $15 T-shirts are priced lower than most other recycled aeropostle T-shirts, despite their much higher labor and manufacture costs. "We charge about half. The common perception is that is that it's too expensive to make in America. It is more expensive, but not unreasonable." Custom and collegiate work account for the biggest chunk of sales.
